Why should I use the Light Sheer™ laser for hair
removal? The laser is backed by extensive, long-term
clinical data. It has satisfied thousands of patients and issued by clinics
worldwide. The laser is capable of treating every skin color and most hair
types with speed and accuracy.
How does the Light Sheer™ laser system work? The system
emits near-infrared laser light that is absorbed by the pigment located in the
hair follicles, disabling the follicle from producing hair. Numerous follicles are treated with each
pulse. Treatment times vary with the size of the area being treated. For
example, underarms are treated in less than 10 minutes while a full back may
take an hour or longer.
How many treatments are required? Hairs actually
go through three distinct growth phases:
Active growth, regression, and resting.
The laser is most effective for hair follicles that are in the active
growth phase, which is why multiple treatments are required to destroy the hair
follicles. In general, patients have three to seven treatments approximately
every four weeks for optimum results. The laser significantly reduces hair
beginning with the first treatment so whether the goal is hair reduction or
elimination, determines the exact number of treatments. These effects are
permanent, although a touch up may be required from time to time.
Is Light Sheer™ laser hair removal painful? When the laser
is applied to the skin patients feel some tingling, similar in sensation to the
snapping of a small rubber band against the skin. To ensure patient comfort during treatment,

How is Photorejuvenation performed? A cold gel is applied
to the area to be treated. Goggles are worn to protect your eyes from the

piece is gently applied to your skin while pulses of light are emitted. You may
feel a slight sting, like the snapping of a small rubber band. Treatments
generally take about thirty minutes.

What causes frown lines between the brows? The lines
that appear between your brows actually result from muscle movement and the

How does BOTOX® Cosmetic work? BOTOX®
Cosmetic is a purified protein that smoothes the muscles by blocking nerve

During Treatment
Intense pulsed light or
high-energy laser penetrates the skin and is absorbed by the blood. Depending on the size and depth of the
target, a delay time between pulses is selected to allow for sufficient cooling
of the epidermis and thermal relaxation of the vessels.
Immediately After Treatment
The temperature within the
treated blood vessel has been raised high enough to cause it to collapse and
breakdown allowing the trapped blood to be absorbed into the body.
After Treatment
After treatment, the area
treated will have a “cat scratch” appearance - slightly red and raised where
the vessel was. As these side effects diminish so does the vessel beneath it.
Stubborn or deeper vessels might require more than one treatment.
